211 Maine is a free, confidential information and referral services that connects Maine residents to local services, including volunteer transportation programs.
GoMaine Carpool service. Free carpool and vanpool matching service. Best yet, when you use the service, you gain points for the online reward program--coupons, retailer discounts, and even tickets to shows and attractions.

American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program. Free rides to cancer treatment destinations. To request a ride: 1-800-227-2345
Volunteer Transportation for Veterans, Volunteer driver van service which, generally, picks veterans up in the morning and returns them home late in the afternoon. Only for medical rides within the VA system.
There may be regional options that serve your county or area. For example, several Community Action Programs have transportation options. Click on any of these to learn more about the area they serve and the types of rides they can provide:
Aroostook Regional Transportation System. Serves Aroostook County, Danforth region, and Sherman, Patten, and Stacyville in Penobscot County.
Downeast Community Partners. Hancock and Washington Counties
Kennebec Valley Community Action Program. Kennebec and Somerset Counties
Maine Association of New Americans. Must be clients of the program. Rides anywhere within 1 hour and 15 minutes of Portland
Regional Transportation Program . Serves Cumberland County, shared ride service, requires riders to book in advance.
Waldo CAP Transit System. Serves Waldo, Knox, Sagadahoc, and Lincoln Counties as well as Brunswick and Harpswell. Primarily Medicare rides
Western Maine Transportation Services provides safe, reliable, affordable transportation to residents of Androscoggin, Franklin, and Exford Counties. There are several fixed routes options as well as demand-response, which allows you to set up a ride for a specific location. To learn more, call 800-393-9335.
York County Community Transportation. up to one medical trip/month (to appointments from Portland and Portsmouth); unlimited cancer care rides and rides for Veterans.
