For a Bit of Inspiration.....

Candy Eaton and her husband, Rob, moved to Sullivan and began thinking about how their small, rural community could support the needs of its residents across the lifespan.  Candy took on a leadership role with Age-Friendly Sullivan and, after helping to kick-start a number of initiatives, began sharing her passion and expertise with other towns in Maine as a Lifelong Communities Fellow.

Sullivan has been a member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities for 5+ years now and has touched the lives of over 1000 people. There are 164  volunteers (and counting) that contribute to the community garden, maintain walking trails, deliver food boxes from Schoodic food pantries, and oversee the town's Facebook page and monthly town newsletter.

Hear how the team in Sullivan has connected partners (including funders), volunteers, and residents in support of a variety of community-building activities....and get inspired by what this amazing small town has accomplished by bringing neighbors together to address shared interests.
